I don’t even have to ask if you have scraps because if you are a paper crafter, you have scraps. Do you let your scraps sit around in a pile or folder, or do you use them? I came across this fun technique that uses and turns scraps into a fun, striped background. We made this card over a Mystery Zoom Stamping session and everyone seemed to like it. It’s a great card to try out different color combinations as well as creating masculine cards (which are sometimes hard to do). Keep reading and watch to see how to turn your scraps into fun cards using the scrappy strippy technique.
What You Need
Scraps at least 5-1/4″ x 3″ – I would say at least 5 different, but coordinating solids or patterns.
Card Base – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored in half at 4-1/4″
Background layer – 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, your choice to have it the same color as the card base or a coordinating color to the base and scraps
Some sort of image, words or combination to lay on top of stripes
Technique Tutorial
In this video I used the Cute Fruit stamp set and Zany Zebras stamp set, both found in the Beginner’s Brochure.
