Watermelon Wonder

It’s officially Summertime.  Finally!  After the winter (and all the endless snow) we had this year, Summer couldn’t come soon enough.  I love the smell of fresh picked basil, the sandal tan on my feet, blue hydrangeas growing in the yard, ice cream for dinner and watermelon at cookouts.  Speaking of watermelon, I found this cute watermelon card on Pinterest:Snip20150622_5I love the hardwood table and the “Sweet” bite.  I used this card as my inspiration and designed my own version:Snip20150624_10I kept the hardwood background, using the new Tip, Top Taupe paper and ink because I liked how the neutral (but not boring) background lets the watermelon shine.  I wasn’t able to duplicate the bite because my layers were too thick for my punch, so I just left the slice deliciously whole.  A folded paper doilies becomes a napkin and textured watermelon layers is easy by using two embossing folders and my trusty Big Shot.  How about those seeds?  I used the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and cut it in half.  Pretty sweet!  This card is sure to bring someone a smile.

Spread the love!
