Templates make it easy to figure out paper layers

Using templates to figure out how to cut paper layersI was asked the question the other day about how I figure out how to cut the layers for my cards because she gets confused on what sizes to cut.  I told her that I usually decrease the measurements by a quarter inch for each layer.  After you make lots and lots of cards, the measurements become second nature.  But it got me thinking of a way to make cutting layers easier for a new stamper and I came up with the idea of templates.

Templates make it easy to figure out paper layers because you can lay them on top of each other and see which ones you like.  Then, after you come up with a layout that you like you can cut your card stock.

I filmed a little video showing how these templates can work.  Let me know if you think this template idea will help you with your layers in the comment section.
