I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. I joined 15 years ago. One of the things I love about it is, you can make it fit your lifestyle and family. It’s all about flexibility. My kids were little when I joined and now they are in college. My stamping adapted to how my kids and family schedule were. I am one of the few people who joined with the intent of making stamping more than a hobby. I used to teach classes at my kitchen table and go to craft shows to sell cards & projects I made. Now I have a team of stampers, run clubs and teach online. Everyone’s story and intent is different. That’s what makes Stampin’ Up! unique.
Many people who sign up with Stampin’ Up! are “hobbyists”. They join because they love the product and can buy it at a discount. Some buy because the Starter Kit is such a great deal. When you join Stampin’ Up! you become a “demonstrator”. As indicated above, the definition of that term varies according to what you want it to mean. When you join, not only do you become a member of the global Stampin’ Up! community, you also become a part of my team called “The Wicked Stampahs”. We are a team of mostly women who joined and remain active for all different reasons. Some craft (buy) only for themselves, some teach classes at Senior Centers, some sell to family & friends (and their family & friends), some have monthly club and/or classes, some are building their own teams, some joined so they can be connected to other crafters and some want to earn an income. I am here to support each on my team in any way they need me.
There are ways to increase the 20% discount/income to 25% and earn volume rebates. I am happy to tell you how to do this as your team leader (I don’t want to bog you down with details here).
To remain an active demonstrator, there is a quarterly $300 in minimum sales that needs to be met. This can be met directly by you, selling to others, with Paper Pumpkin subscriptions or a combination. If you join in May, your first quarter will not begin until July 1st, so you have extra time (until September 30) to meet the first $300. If at any time you do not meet the $300 quarterly minimum, you have a month of pending (to make up the difference) and if it’s still not met, your status becomes dropped and you would no longer be a demonstrator. There is no fee or penalty for being dropped and you can re-join again if you wish.

I promise you, I have never regretted the decision I made to join 15 years ago. I have made many great friends through stamping, locally and globally. I love to learn new techniques and continue to love the products they create. I am always learning something new. I also love how it’s given me the opportunity to create my own stamping business with the flexibility to do as much as little as I want. Everyone is different and everyone is their own kind of demonstrator. There is no time commitment in joining, so it is risk free.
