Diagonal Flip Box

I typically make more cards than any other type of project, but I do enjoy making fun boxes.  This Diagonal Flip Box is definitely a fun box to make and give.  It’s a little different than a typical box because of how it opens and flips.  Maybe not for a beginner, but definitely do-able for someone who knows a little bit about paper crafting.  This box was a Club project and was a big hit by all.  You’ll want to follow along with my tutorial on how to put it together so you do the steps in the right order.  I’m curious to know what you think about this diagonal flip box in the comments below.

Diagonal Flip Box

This box is fun for every season, depending on the paper, colors and stamps you use.  I love how it’s two toned.  The box measures 3″ x 3″ x 1″.  Perfect for mini 3″ x 3″ cards & envelopes, candy, jewelry or any other little gift.  I used the spring themed paper – Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper, 157670.  It’s one of the beautiful papers in the 2022 January – June Occasions Catalog.  You can use any papers.

The tiny magnets are from www.totalelement.com.  I have no affiliation with this company, but they work really well.  I used the 1/4″ x 1/32″neodymium rare earth disc magnets, pack of 200.  They are super thin – be sure you are only using one magnet per side.

Dimensions of the Box

Box Top

I used two sheets of patterned paper sized 1-7/8″ x 2″.  If you are using directional pattern paper, be sure the pattern is in the portrait position when cutting.

I hope you’ll give these Diagonal Flip Boxes a try.  Like I said above, they are a little different to make than a traditional box with a top and bottom.  Once you make one, I am sure you will make several.

Thank you!

Spread the love!
