Create an easy 3D stand-up shadowbox card

Would you like to make a fun and not too complicated 3D card?  I’m calling it a stand up shadowbox card.  It may have another name, but this is what I came up with because it describes exactly what it is.  One of my Club members brought a different version of this card to our meeting and I loved it.  Her card was Easter themed with the returning stamp set Fable Friends, “Peter Rabbit” was in the foreground and flowers and grasses in the background.  Super sweet and full of Springtime.  I used her template and tweaked it a few ways.  You’ll see her template in the video.

I used this dragonfly card for both Mother’s Day and birthday cards.  You can really change it up by switching out the background paper and what you put on the front.  The Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and dies are retiring (so if you want them don’t delay), but you could easily substitute one of the many butterfly options, cupcakes or a sailboat from the new Sailing Home stamp set that comes out in June.  My preorder of the Sailing Home stamp set & dies just arrived today, and I think it would look spectacular made into this card with the coordinating patterned paper.

You can also create layers both on top of the window sheet and behind, as well as on the fold to give the shadow box more depth.  In the video, I give the all cutting and scoring measurements.  After you watch the video, see what changes you can make based on the supplies you have and theme you want to create.  I would love to see what you create.
