5 Ways of Creating Quick Cards

I needed to send out a bunch of cards yesterday, but had limited time to create them.  Does this ever happen to you??  I have a couple of helpful solutions and I thought I would share them with you.

1.  Check your stash first and think differently.  A “thinking of you” card can be used for thank you and birthday, not just get well or sympathy.  Sometimes, the message written on the inside is more important than what is on the front.

2.  Paper Pumpkin is ideal for this situation.  These are generally quick cards to assemble and all of what you need is in the box, no searching your supplies.  My daughter likes to make my kits up, but doesn’t like to stamp them (weird, I know).  I pulled a few of them out and stamped “thank you”, wrote a nice message inside and off they went in the mail.  More details on Paper Pumpkin below.

3.  Let the Designer Series Paper do most of the work for you.  There is a perfect sheet of paper in the Peaceful Poppies pack that does exactly this.  Photo below.  Find a nice piece of paper, cut to cover the entire card front and add a sentiment and maybe a ribbon or sparkle.  Done, easy and handmade.  (All of the new papers would work for this quick card making).

4.  All Inclusive Card Kits.  Similar to Paper Pumpkin, everything you need to complete the cards is in the box.  These kits are a one time purchase, not monthly kits like PP.  There is a great one in the new 2020 Mini Catalog called “Three Cheers for You” and is only $27.  I love the kit colors of Night of Navy, Seaside Spray & Terracotta Tile.  The kit makes 12 cards and a matching printed box, in case you wanted to gift some of the cards or use it as a gift box.  Be sure to take a look, page 59, or click this Three Cheers for You link.

5.  Come to a class or Stamping Sunday event!  This idea won’t help you tomorrow when you need cards, but if you come to a class/event you will make some cards that you will then have on hand.  Check the Calendar of Events HERE.

The 12″ x 12″ sheet of Peaceful Poppies paper underneath the cards is designed either for a scrapbook page, or to cut into 6 pieces (4″ x 5-1/4″) for a standard card front.  I stamped a sentiment (with the new Peaceful Moments stamp set), layered it on a coordinating Blackberry Bliss scallop color and cut two 1/4″ strips of Poppy Parade to layer underneath (I didn’t have any matching ribbon).  The card base is Rich Razzleberry.   I included a 1/2″ strip of coordinating striped paper inside the card to brighten the white.Pretty quick & easy, but striking and perfect for mailing to a friend.
