The more I use this exclusive Thoughtful Branches set (that will be available for purchase in August), the more I love it. There are so many possibilities with each of the stamps! Definitely a four season stamp set and I can’t get enough of the hydrangea flower combinations. Be sure to do a “Thoughtful Branches Stampin’ Up!” search on Pinterest, you’ll find some beauties.
Here are the three cards we are going to make at my upcoming August 4 Thoughtful Branches class (10 am & 7 pm):
This card I copied exactly from a Stampin’ Up! design. I just loved the way they used a tree stamp as the polka-dot background with the middle vellum layer. A double stamp for the tree to get a leaf shadow, the 3 dimensional “thank you” banner and of course the bluebirds.
This card is my own design. I love blue hydrangeas (and have several bushes in my yard). I find in September, some of the under blooms turn a little green and even a little purple. I tried putting a layer of Sweet Sugarplum behind the blue blooms as well, but it was too much and I liked the green best (Pear Pizzazz in case you were wondering). The base card is Tip Top Taupe with the same color ink and the Hardwood background stamp. “Your in my thoughts” comes with the set and is embossed in the new copper embossing powder. The blue flower is Marina Mist and the stem is Garden Green.
I saw this design on Pinterest and put my own color spin on it. The flowers kind of remind me of both lilacs and hyacinths – but really, the stamp was designed to be stamped on a tree base as leaves. There are clever stampers out there (and I’m so grateful for them)! I used the butterfly embossing folder as a background and chose to stamp my blooms in Watermelon Wonder and Flirty Flamingo.
Such a versatile set! I didn’t even showcase all of the tree combinations you can do. I plan on using this set for my Christmas in August class too.
