Reversible Card Sketch

World Card Making Day was last week (1st Saturday of October) and Stampin’ Up! set a goal of 5000 stamping events around the world.  I was away visiting my daughter that weekend at her college, so I couldn’t host an event.  Instead, I sent an email to my mailing list with this great card layout/sketch for them to make their own card.  This reversible card sketch is easy and versatile (and can be used with papers & stamps you already have).  If you want to see what types of stamping events happened that weekend, search this hashtag #WCMD2021.  Two people sent me the cards they made with this sketch, you can see them below (yay!).

World Card Making Day (WCMD) Sketch Measurements

  • Portrait Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored in half at 4-1/4″.
  • Larger Layer:  3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″
  • Smaller Layer: 3″ x 3″
This is a great layout to use your 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper because you can get 4 layers with one 6″ x 6″ sheet (or 16 layers with a 12″ x 12″ sheet).

Do you like the idea of getting a sketch (layout) and samples to follow?  You may just like my Monthly Sketch Program.  It’s done very similarly to the above.  The first week I send you a sketch, the measurements and a sample using that sketch.  Over the next three weeks I send you three other samples using the same sketch (with some variations).  The third week is a holiday sample.  There’s a listing of supplies & item numbers with each sample in case you like what I use (but the whole point of the sketch program is to use what you have).  A fifth email is sent as a monthly wrap up – the sketch and all four samples in one email.  I find this is helpful for a quick reference.  Save all your emails in a designated folder and you have a resource library for many sketches and samples.  It’s perfect for those who have a hard time coming up with their own ideas.

More Samples

Here are the two samples that were sent to me using this sketch.  I love them both!  Interestingly they each used a different layout – one used sketch A and one used sketch B, but both happened to make get well cards!  I guess it’s the season of sending get well cards.  Thank you Kim & Patti!!!!!  To all of you, stay healthy!!!
