We don’t always have the luxury of a lot of time to spend on creating a card, right? But you really want to send a handmade card. I have a great solution for you. You can create quick & easy cards using scissors and patterned paper. I love this template and have used it with many different patterns of paper to create unique looks. Keep reading and I promise you will be making your own quick & easy cards.
I like to make this style of cards using the pre-cut & scored Notecards & Envelopes. They come in both Whisper White & Very Vanilla. You get 20 cards & envelopes for only $6.50.
How to make it:
I cut my patterned paper to the size of 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″. This gives a nice 1/8″ border on the card base. You can use any size card base, just cut your patterned paper to fit that size.
I use my scissors and cut across the patterned paper until there is about an inch left (this is approximate since I don’t measure). Fold down the patterned paper to reveal the opposite pattern. Do this for both cut sides.
Adhere your patterned paper to the card base. Stamp your sentiment (or image) in the space that is revealed from the folds.
You can stop here if you like. It’s that quick & easy! Or, you can embellish further.
I tried to mimic the pattern of this Happiness Blooms patterned paper by using some punches. Would you like to see a few more examples using this same cut and fold technique?
All I did was change up the paper, sentiment and punched image. The format is exactly the same but it’s a completely different card!
