As I was cutting all the papers for the Paper Share, I was “wowed” by so many of them. You can see that the papers are nice by looking at them in the catalog, but seeing them in person is when you really see how beautiful they are. Each set of papers has its own style, theme and color coordination. A pattern for every occasion. I decided to highlight each set of Designer Series Papers in a feature blog post so you too can see how beautiful, diverse and usable they are. The first feature will be on the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
The Perennial Essence paper pack really spoke me. It is so reminiscent of Monet and his impressionist water lilies. I have to admit, it was a little hard to cut the papers because they are almost like a painting. You could even frame and hang each 12″ x 12″ sheet up as lovely decor.
Example one
I have two examples to show you with this Perennial Essence pack. The first is the card I included in with the Paper Share. I always like to include a sample card using the papers. You can see that the papers do most of the work. These cards are made with the pre-scored Notecards & Envelopes with a background piece of Blackberry Bliss. I also used an inch of the beautiful Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper, which color coordinates perfectly.
Not every card is exactly the same because of the variety of the flowers. As I mentioned above, the 12 x 12″ sheet is a whole flower composition on it’s own, but it also works when you cut it into smaller pieces. These cards are constructed exactly the same as the above ones, but have a totally different feel because of the different colors. The “So happy for You” stamp is found in the Beautiful You stamp set. I liked this choice of stamp because this card for so many occasions.
Example two
This next example is the card I made for my mother’s birthday. She is privy to all the cards I make, so I had to make something new and unique for her. She loved it!Do you see how these papers resemble Monet’s Water Lilies? Absolutely gorgeous. I used Night of Navy as the card base even though the coordinating color to these papers is Blueberry Bushel. I thought it had a richer feel than the Blueberry. The Navy twine I used is retired. My mom loves to read, so I also made and included a matching bookmark for her. I just loved this quote and is the reason why I bought the Rustic Retreat stamp set (although I’m excited to use all of the other images included too). I will be doing a video tutorial on how I made this card soon using the Magnolia Lane Designer Series paper. We will be making this card & bookmark as one of the July Club projects and I will film & post it after we meet. I’ll include a photo of this card along with the Magnolia Lane card for you to see how the papers can really change up the vibe, even though you use the same template.
Update. Here is the link to the video: https://mailsomethingpretty.com/four-panel-fancy-fold-card-featuring-magnolia-lane-designer-paper/
I’m excited to use this Rustic Retreat stamp set for some my Christmas in July card class, but you can see it can be used for several occasions. And that A.A. Milne quote gets me every time I read it. So powerful!
