My dad’s birthday is this week and I needed to make him a birthday card. I looked through my stamp sets, but nothing was speaking to me. Does that ever happen to you? Stamp sets take on a personality and apply themselves to specific people. We call my dad BB, which lends itself perfectly to the Large Letters Framelits. So that is where I started. I tried stamping a background, but I wasn’t happy with the results. So, I decided to make him a card using only my Big Shot. As you can see, I highlighted the “BB” with a circle and scallop circle from the Layering Circles Framelits. The background needed a little texture, so I used the Seaside Textured Embossing Folder. This was exactly what the card needed to pull it together. Usually, I stamp a birthday greeting on the inside, but I wanted to tie in the Big Shot theme. Happy Birthday Thinlits to the rescue (with a repeat of the patterned paper from the front).
I tell every stamper, new and current, that I use my Big Shot on almost every project I make. This card I used only my Big Shot. It is definitely a tool that is a staple in my “crafting pantry”. Did you know you can earn two $5 coupons if you purchased a Big Shot during the month of August? Then you could redeem those coupons in September and get a free embossing folder, or put it towards a cutting die. I can not recommend having a Big Shot enough, it truly is a tool you will use all the time. Click HERE to see the Big Shot in the online store.
