Loving Love & Affection

I must be in the challenge mode this week because I am entering another one.  The Global Design Project was created 39 weeks ago by a team of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators all around the globe.  They team up and create challenges for fellow demonstrators – which really is a great exercise for those crafty brain muscles.  Each week is a different challenge that may focus on a color combination, technique, sketch or theme.  I have been watching them since the beginning telling myself that I want to participate.  Finally, I did it and I hope to continue in more of them, more often.
Snip20160606_5Here is my design #GDP039:Snip20160606_4I followed the layout of a card in the Watercolor Wishes All-Inclusive Card Kit.  Can you find it?Snip20160606_3I used my Aqua Painter to create the Night of Navy stripes in the background and embossed the flowers from the Love & Affection stamp set in the new Copper Embossing Powder.  I cut out the flowers the old fashioned way – with my paper snips (no Big Shot die for this set) and added just a touch of the coordinating Affectionately Yours Washi tape.  (By the way, all the watercoloring is done for you in the Watercolor Wishes card kit – all you have to do is stamp your greeting and assemble).

Thanks for looking!

Spread the love!

  2. What a great idea to use the kit card for your inspiration. I love the copper flower accents on your lovely card.

  3. Beautiful, Christine! I adore this layered flower. A perfect accent for a pick-me-up. Thanks for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge!

  4. “Crafty brain muscles” – that’s a great way to put it! Sometimes that muscle goes into some sort of spasm with me and just won’t play nice….I suppose that’s why it’s good to keep it moving!
A great card for this weeks challenge and great idea to CASE something already fabulous and make it even better. Thanks so much for playing along to the Global Design Project this week Christine and sharing your beautiful card. xo

    • My exercise teacher keeps telling us it takes 6 weeks to get in shape and only 2 weeks to lose it and I think that applies to our “crafty brain muscle” as well. Thank you for your nice feedback and for setting up the challenge. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing more!
