If you have read some of my previous blog and Facebook posts, then you know I am all about versatility. I like my stamp sets to have more than one use. Forever Ferns is a stamp set that fits that criteria. It’s a great one to use as the main focus, the background and for many reasons and occasions. A good set for masculine cards too (and we know how those are sometimes hard to come by). We made this card for Club last week and I thought you might like to see the steps of making this elegant and easy card. It’s pure stamping, #simplestamping.
Supplies used:
- Forever Fern stamp set, 152559
- Forever Flourishing dies, 152714
- Ink Colors – Soft Sea Foam, 147102, Shaded Spruce, 147088 & Evening Evergreen, 155576
- Soft Sea Foam Card Stock, 146988
- Basic White Card Stock, 159276
- Pansy Petals Designer Paper. 155807
- Gold Foil Paper, 132622
- Tasteful Labels Dies, 152886
Steps
Stamp two of the same largest greens in opposite corners, with Shaded Spruce ink.
Stamp three of the 2nd largest greens stamp in Soft Sea Foam ink. I stamped one towards the top right corner and two in the left bottom corner.
There are two similar stamps but in mirroring directions. Stamp each of these in Evening Evergreen ink above and below the mid line.
Lastly, stamp the dots in Soft Sea Foam around the edges of the greenery. I know it looks really messy at this point and you can see all the stems. Don’t worry!
Cut one of the greenery shapes from the Forever Flourishing dies and glue on top of where all the stems meet.
Stamp your sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink. I used one of the dies from the Tasteful Labels dies, 152886. I use this die set a lot. I could have used many other sentiments as well as the ones shown here.
Elegant & Easy!
Final Card!
Holiday version
This is the same card but with a holiday spin. I used Merry Merlot card base and ink to holiday it up. I also replaced the Pansy stripe paper with a Holiday stripe pattern from the Tidings of Christmas pack, 155718.
If you don’t have a die cutting machine and don’t use dies – don’t worry! You can use a punch to create the gold effect. I punched 3 sprigs with the Sprig punch, 148012.
Another sample with Evening Evergreen
There are so many other samples online using the Forever Greens stamp set. All you need to do is do a Google search. I hope you agree with me that Forever Ferns is Elegant and Easy. I would love to hear what you think. Write in the comments below.
I love this stamp set. I like it in the greens and I even did shades of browns with red berries. Oh this is one of my all time favorite sets from Stampin Up.
I agree it’s a great set. I didn’t get it right away when it came out, but after I saw it in the annual catalog I thought it would make a great addition to Christmas sets (as well as to go with the sentiments it came with). So glad you like it!
