Embellished jr. legal pad notebooks Make Great Gifts

Two project posts in two days using Poppies! This notebook is the second of the projects I made using the Poppies paper and die cuts. I think the desktop calendar from yesterday and this notebook coordinate beautifully and can be given as a gift either together, or by themselves. These embellished jr. legal pad notebooks make great gifts for teachers, neighbors, friends, aunts, girlfriends, you get the picture. I love using my notebook at school meetings.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, the Peaceful Poppies paper and dies will not be available to purchase until January 2, 2020. You can certainly use different paper and cutouts, like the Sailing Home and hummingbird notebooks I show as examples in the video, or wait until January to place your order. The measurements and score marks are listed below the video.

The video is a little rushed because I was trying to do too many things all at once in preparation of Christmas. Just view it as a glimpse into my real life. But, as you will see, the notebooks come together pretty quickly which is exactly what you want in a project that you are making last minute. Enjoy!

Embellished Jr. Legal Pad Notebooks Tutorial

Supplies & Measurements

Card stock base 8-1/2″ x 11″, scored at 5-3/8″ and 5-5/8″. I used Real Red.

Front panel (patterned paper) 5-1/4″ x 7-1/4″. I used paper from the new Peaceful Poppies paper #151324 available January 2, 2020. Cut on a diagonal as I show in the video.

Top piece on legal pad 5″ x 2″

Paper for inside of pen 3-1/4″ x 1-1/4″. I used Pentel RSVP pens.

Poppy Moments Dies #151594, available January 2, 2020.

Butterfly Gala Stamp Set #148580 (retired)

Embossing Supplies – White Embossing Powder #155554, Embossing Buddy #159971 & Heat Tool #129053

Black Foil Sheets #147898 (for centers of poppies)

Multipurpose Liquid Glue #110755

Tear & Tape Adhesive #154031

The new Paper Trimmer #152392 cuts and scores on the 1/8″ marks beautifully

I added one more flower like I said I was going to in the video. I think the little poppy balances the other two.

Curious about how the bread turned out? Delicious! Here’s a link to the recipe: https://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/english-muffin-toasting-bread-recipe
