I was going through the photos section of my phone and came across these cards I made as part of a gift for my mom last summer. These are really easy sunflower cards. All you need to do is cut the shapes and adhere the pieces together. The beauty of sunflowers are they can be used for any occasion or celebration. I purposely didn’t stamp anything on them so that she could use them for whichever card worthy need arose.
You can vary your sunflowers by the different hues of yellows or other colors. Sunflowers grow in more colors than just yellow. Or, turn this sunflower into a Gerber Daisy flower by creating it with a vibrant color. I suggest Melon Mambo.
The Designer Paper I used was Ornate Garden, which just happens to be on sale right now. The entire pack is only $6 (instead of $15). Disclosure, the checked & argyle paper is not part of this pack, it’s from a much older pack but it matches beautifully.
Don’t forget to decorate the insides of your cards, especially if you will not be stamping in them. I used 1/2″ strips and adhered them to the side edge.
For these sunflowers, I used So Saffron as a the flower base and Bumblebee (or you can use Crushed Curry, they are pretty similar) as the edging. Early Espresso for the center. The leaves, I believe, are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive – but you can choose any greens.
I also made her mini cards & tags.
