It’s fun to try out a new card fold, but sometimes they can be too confusing or involved. Not this one! Try making this easy side step card. I have a feeling it will become your new favorite fancy fold. There’s no tricky cutting, just easy scoring on two pieces of card stock. I made this card with a fall feel (it was an October Club project), but you can turn yours into any theme by changing up the colors, pattern paper and greeting. Watch the video below to see just how easy it is to make this easy side step card.
I used Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper with a Cajun Craze Card base.
Easy Side Step Card Video Tutorial
I just love this Rustic Harvest Paper. You can leave it plain, or if you want to add a bit more color, color it with your Blends Markers as I did here.
I used colors: Pumpkin Pie, Mossy Meadow and Bronze. You could certainly substitute the Mossy Meadow for Old Olive and the Bronze for Soft Suede. I don’t think there is a substitute Blends Marker color for orange.
It’s really easy to color on the designer paper and I love how the printed colors shine through with my coloring. Another benefit of Blends Markers!
More Rustic Harvest Cards
On this week’s facebook live, I made some Gatefold Angle cards using the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Papers. I think they all came out great and each one is a little different. That’s one of the great things about the Designer Series packs of papers, all of the sheets in the pack coordinate with each other.
If you would like to see how I made the Gatefold Angle card, you can watch the Facebook Live Replay.
Here are all the cards I made and showed how to make:
There is a lot of versatility with these Gate Fold Angle cards with all of the color and paper choices you can make, if you choose to use a belly band or not and the insides. Once you get a hang of cutting the angles, it’s a fun card to make.
Gate Fold Angle Card Directions:
Card Base is 5-1/2″ x 11. Two front panels are 3-1/8″ x 5-1/4″.
You’ll need a ruler to measure down and across the points where you need to cut. All is shown on the video link above.
Thanks for reading this far! You were rewarded with TWO different folds, both using the Rustic Harvest Designer Paper. I hope you enjoyed both the easy Side Step card and the Gate Fold Angle card.
