Double Floating Pop Up Gatefold Card

We made this Double Floating Pop Up Gatefold Card at Club last week. After we were all finished, Michele propped hers up in front of her and said “I can’t believe I just made that”. She and everyone at Club who made the card did great, and loved the easy to follow directions. I hope love the directions too! It will seem like there are a lot of pieces, but if you break them down, then it won’t seem too much.

You are going to love opening and closing this card just to see how the floating pop ups work & move!

We used the Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper to decorate, but you can use any paper you like. You also have the opportunity to leave some panels blank rather than covering them all up like I did.

After you watch the video, you’ll see how I placed the pop ups on a hidden mechanical panel and got the angles to be nice & crisp. This way, the card folds nice and flat to fit into an envelope for easy mailing.

Are you ready to watch and create?

Would you like to see another cool, but less involved “wow” card using this same paper?

I made this card on my February joint live with friend and demonstrator Ann Lewis from Australia. Each month, we host a joint live where we each teach a card or project. I made this Corner Fold card as my example.

You can watch the live below – birthday cards were our theme. Warning: our joint lives tend to be a little longer than our usual lives because we have so much creating with each other. I think this one is one hour and 17 minutes! Lots of good tips and instruction are included.

Stamp your lobsters any color you like! I made these two just like the blue lobsters found in the oceans.

I hope these cards and two videos have convinced you to purchase the Friends of the Ocean suite!

Spread the love!
