Each year, our town’s high school softball team raises money to support research for Cystic Fibrosis. The JV coach’s son Dommie was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when he was two weeks old. Thanks to Dommie’s great team of doctors at Tufts Medical Center and Quincy Pediatrics, Dommie is doing great! He plays basketball, runs track, and will be turning 12 in May.
The softball team participates in the annual Great Strides walk as part of “Dommie’s Dream Team”, which will be held on May 19th at Wompatuck State Park.
This Birthday Card class is my daughter’s way of fundraising for this cause. $10 of every registration will go towards the walk, as well as any money raised from the raffle prizes and 25% of orders placed that day. She will assist me in preparing materials, helping during the class and (most importantly to some) baking some delicious refreshments (she is a very talented baker).
If you are not able to come to class that day but would still like to participate, you can register and get a kit to go. You can pick it up, or have me mail it to you (for additional postage).
