Graphic Quilt Strip Rock & Roll Happy Birthday Card

A few years ago I created a Black & White Quilt Strip card that became very popular, with over 2K views on YouTube. I think it became popular for two reasons: everyone loves a dynamic Black & White card and it’s a great technique to use up scrap strips of paper. Of course you can make this card using any colors and it would be great, you don’t have to use Black & White. Once I saw the new Rock & Roll Designer paper from the 2024 Occasions catalog, I knew I had to make an updated quilt strip Rock & Roll version using the Mini Alphabet dies. I love the results and think you will too.

The quilt strips are created exactly the same way as I did in my original idea. The updates come with the new graphic paper and the fun letters from the Mini Alphabet Dies. Keep scrolling for the new YouTube video showing this card. These letters are fabulous to use on any projects that you want to include customization. Because of their mini size (3/4″ high), you are not limited in writing longer words, phrases & messages. Plus, all of the letters are on one die! You have the option of cutting letters from the one die on one pass, or you can use smaller pieces of card stock and cut only the letters you need.

I find it easier to use the Adhesive Sheets when cutting my letters. This makes it easy to stick down on my project, rather than using glue and risking it oozing out from behind those mini letters. You can also use Foam Sheets in the same way to give the letters some dimension.

Mini Alphabet Letter Organization

Since I was cutting my letters from the entire Mini Alphabet die, I found I had several leftover letters.

Storing them loose in a box is not an effective or time efficient way of organization. I think if I left them this way I would just create new letters rather than riffle through the box looking for the letter and color I wanted.

This disorganization led me to creation of a Mini Alphabet Organizer Box. Actually, two boxes. The larger box has an accordion file on the bottom to create individual slots for my “files” and the smaller box lets the “files” stack right behind each other. These “files” are really 3″ x 3″ Mini Envelopes.

I am offering instructions for these two letter organizer boxes in a pdf tutorial format to you! You can either receive it free with the purchase of the Mini Alphabet dies or you can purchase the pdf tutorial directly.

If you would like to receive it for free, then all you need to do is purchase the Mini Alphabet Dies by February 24, 2024 using host code 2SYQE72N. I will email you the tutorial after your purchase.

To make the organizers, having these products will be helpful:

You will need the 3″ x 3″ Mini Envelopes #159233 for these boxes.  One letter per envelope.  If you are making the larger box, Tear & Tape Adhesive #154031 is also a very important element for positioning the accordion file. And of course, you will want the Mini Alphabet Dies #162934! I find it helpful to use either the Adhesive Sheets #152334 or Foam Sheets #152815 with my letters so I don’t have to glue them onto projects.

Would you like to see even more ideas using the Mini Alphabet dies? I think you will love these cards because they use both the letters AND the negative space of the letters as well as a few photos that have the letters popping through a window.

I hope you like this new version of the Quilt Strip Rock & Roll using the Mini Alphabet Dies as much as the original!

Spread the love!
