I was using my Stampin’ Write Markers over the weekend and noticed my Pool Party Marker was a little dry. Did you know you can “re-ink” the Stampin’ Write Markers? Since the debut of the Blends Markers, your Stampin’ Write’s may have taken a back seat (just like mine). Don’t forget about these versatile Stampin’ Write Markers! “Re-ink” the Stampin’ Write Markers to keep them alive and usable. Not only do they color and write (like a regular marker), but the magic of them is you can color directly on your stamps to get multi-colored images. You can’t do that with the Blends Markers. Store all your markers in a horizontal position to prevent all the ink pooling to the bottom (aka gravity) and be sure the covers are on tight.
“Re-inking” your Stampin’ Write markers takes a little patience, a set of tweezers and a re-inker of the same color. Stampin’ Up! makes it easy to know which colors to use because they carry the same name and die lot throughout their color line in papers, ink pads, markers, re-inkers, ribbons, and accessories. Bermuda Bay paper is the same color as Bermuda Bay ink, Bermuda Bay ribbon and Bermuda Bay in the Designer Series Papers. No guessing involved. This occurs with all 53 of their colors.

Step one – Remove the brush tip with tweezers by pulling upwards. Set aside on a paper towel.
Step two – CAREFULLY squeeze 3 or 4 drops of the re-inker into the marker. You will see the drops puddle in the opening. When you see this, STOP adding drops. You need to let drops work themselves down in the marker.
Step three – set the marker aside in a glass to let the ink work itself down. Once the puddling is gone, squeeze a few more drops in. Repeat. This is where the patience comes in. After you are done adding drops, put the brush tip back in with your tweezers.
Be careful not to spill ink drops down the side of your marker and onto your hand! Luckily, the ink doesn’t stain your skin for too long if you notice it right away.
I hope I have given your Stampin’ Write Markers new life by showing you how to “re-ink” them. You will want to “re-ink” the Stampin’ Write Markers to keep them alive and usable as long as possible.
