This weekend my daughter celebrated her “Sweet 16” Birthday. It’s hard to imagine that she is 16. I started stamping when she was in preschool and now she’s able to drive. Crazy! Making cards for her is a challenge. She’s very talented and artistic, and I often go to her to ask her opinion when I am putting together a card (she’s bluntly honest). I did a little searching on Pinterest and came across this great idea, using dollar bills as candles. I think it’s perfect for a 16 year old (boy or girl), but also think you can get clever and create other milestones such as 21, 25, 50, etc.
Fold the dollars so you see the numbered part you want and tape it down with washi tape. Washi is great because it acts as a temporary tape and won’t ruin or permanently stick. Cover up the tape with your celebratory greeting, I used a dimensional because of the thickness of the folded dollars. I ended up using retired patterned paper and greeting because it was the most “teenager-ish” I had. The Lemon Builder punch works perfectly for the lit candles. Teenage cards can sometimes be hard to make, but this one is quick, easy and perfect!
