Let’s admit it, the new 2018/19 Annual Catalog is AMAZING and a little bit overwhelming at the same time. It’s 241 pages of new & returning stamp sets, colors, papers, embellishments, tools and all sorts of goodness. In this post, I list 10 great products hidden in the catalog. How long is your wish list? Mine is super long and I am thankful that I receive a discount on my orders, as a Demonstrator. Interested in receiving your own 20-25% discount? Today, I wanted to point out 10 fantastic gems that are a little bit hidden in the catalog and I don’t want you to miss them.
Simply Shammy
Simply Shammy #147042, $8, p. 206. It may not look like much in the photograph, but this purple shammy is going to be your new best friend. This is a reusable cleaning mat that makes stamp cleaning (& finger cleaning, block cleaning and especially Stamparatus cleaning) a cinch. All you need to do is add water and wipe. It won’t look pretty after you use it, but trust me, it’s going to be your new BFF. It also fits perfectly in a standard size stamp case (#119105 $7 for a 4-pack).
Big Shot Embossing Mats
Big Shot Embossing Mats #146327, $15, p. 221. These mats will turn your favorite Thinlits & Framelits into Embossing Dies (they won’t cut through the paper like they are intended to). Now, you will get two uses of your dies – they can cut & emboss! These mats work with your Big Shot & Platform.
Color Coded Charts
Not sure which type of adhesive will work best? Forget which plates to use and how to sandwich them with your Big Shot? No worries! The Annual Catalog has color-coded charts to help you remember which adhesive is best and which dies work with which plates. Adhesive is on page 213 and Big Shot charts are on pages 215 & 222.
Embossing Powder – Black is Back!
Black Embossing Powder #146956, $5, p.202. I missed not having Black Embossing Powder last year and did a happy dance when I found it had returned. There’s nothing like a crisp black line to color in with the many color options Stampin’ Up! provides us (Watercolor Pencils, Brusho Crystals, Blends Markers, Sponging, Stampin’ Write Markers, Aqua Painter & Ink Pad). New this year is Embossing Powders in all of the new In Colors – and don’t forget the returning metallics, white & clear.
Clear Rhinestones are Still in the Catalog!
Clear Rhinestones #144220, $5, p. 196. When I first was flipping through the catalog, I couldn’t believe the Rhinestones were taken away, they were my go-to bling. Not to worry! I found them. They are listed under the picture of the new Red Rhinestones (which I am very excited about too and there are 220 of them). The Basic Pearls are listed there as well. Did you notice the Petal Pink ones too? The pink have 4 different gem shapes.
Side Note since I just mentioned Pearls:
Stampin’ Up! is Celebrating their 30th Anniversary – the Year of the Pearl!
You may notice a few “Pearlized” products in this year’s catalog:
Metallic Pearls, #146282, $7 (gold & silver), p. 197
Share What You Love Artisan Pearls #146927, $6 (Grapefruit Grove, Petal Pink, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron & Tranquil Tide), p. 197.
Pearlized Doilies #146936, $4.50, p. 192
Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper #146926, $27 – 24 sheets of handpainted, heavyweight sheets (4 designs have a pearlized finish). It’s beautiful paper, p. 188.
StazOn Cleaner
StazOn Cleaner #109196, $6. You may think this a weird item to list here, but believe me, this cleaner is one you can not live without. You use it to clean stamps used with Black StazOn ink and it does so very nicely. But, it also cleans stains off your table, black StazOn ink off your acrylic blocks and even removes chalkboard markers from chalkboard surfaces that don’t seem to erase (this is speaking from experience). I use it to remove lots of stains from surfaces, not all stamping related.
Ink Pad Collections are 10% Off
Since there are so many new colors being introduced (or re-introduced) and a new ink pad case redesign, you may want to invest in a whole Color Collection. The colors in each Collection were shuffled around too. You can purchase an entire Collections with a 10% discount. You can also purchase the re-inkers collections at a 10% discount too.
New Color Assortment Ink Pads (16 new & returning colors) #147161, $108, p. 182 (you can also purchase the assortment of Stampin’ Write Markers & Card Stock shown on this page as well).
2018/20 In Colors #147153 (5 ink pads) p. 183
2017/19 In colors #147152, (5 ink pads) p. 183
Neutrals Collection #147151, 10 ink pads, $67.50, p. 184
Brights Collection #147150, 10 ink pads, $67.50, p. 185
Subtles Collection #147149, 10 ink pads, $67.50, p. 186
Regals Collection #147148, 10 ink pads, $67.50, p. 187
Stamparatus
Stamparatus #146276, $49, p. 207. This incredible new tool is way back on page 207, but don’t let that fool you. This tool is going to revolutionize stamping and getting the perfect placement of your stamps, stamping multiples of the same project and you will no longer smudge ink on your projects. It is worth every penny. The Stamparatus comes with two ultra strong magnets that you don’t want to come together. If you do, they may break. But don’t worry, Stampin’ Up! is selling replacement magnets too 🙂There are lots of videos out there, but here is a good one to start with from Stampin’ Up!
Pillow Boxes
Kraft Pillow Boxes #147018, $5 (for 10 boxes), p. 193. I know you’ve seen pillow boxes before, but these are great for two reasons. 1, they are large enough for a gift card and 2, you can use it as a template and trace it onto any color or patterned card stock. Then you have a fun colored/patterned pillow box to give as a gift. These kraft ones (with white polka dots) are fine, but I love how you can create your own colors with a little tracing.
Darling Label Punch Box
Darling Label Punch Box #146855, $45, pages 44 & 209. Not only do you get an acrylic block, stamps, punch, 2 mini inks in this kit, but you also get a beautiful Navy & Gold tin to either store your supplies or give as a gift. All you need to add is a little card stock and you have the makings of a great mini starter kit.
There are so many more great things tucked away in this catalog, but these were items that I thought needed attention in fear of being lost. Let me know what products are your favorites, either from the 10 above or another gem you found. Let me know if you need any help placing your order. I tried to make it easy for you with all of the links for each product.
Stay tuned for my top 10 favorite stamp sets!!!
