Sympathy & Thinking of You Cards

As much as we wish we didn’t need them, it’s good to have both Sympathy and Thinking of You cards on hand.  A nicely written note (and a nicely made card) can really make a difference in a time of need or sorrow.  Join me at my next class where we will be making these cards.  Sentiments are interchangeable so you can customize them to suit your needs.Snip20160321_2This is a card design that I found on Pinterest and I made just a few construction changes.  I decided to fold the front forward (instead of making cuts) to give the card some easy to create interest.  I also used a masking technique to make space for my sentiment.  This Summer Silhouettes stamp set makes a lovely impression.  The “With Sympathy” comes from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  Love Paper Pumpkin!Snip20160321_1I also cased this card from Pinterest with minor changes.  I am discovering that I like to frame a card with a larger border than the standard 1/8″.  This one has a 1/4″ Old Olive border on all sides.  I’ve also been wanting to use my Awesomely Artistic stamp set for some time and I think this is the perfect occasion.  The dragonfly is embossed in gold which makes her really pop off the page.Snip20160321_3The new Botanical Blooms stamp set and Botanical Framelits are a definite go-to product for any occasion.  All you need to do is change up the color of flowers to suit your needs.  I chose Watermelon Wonder and Crushed Curry to make up this bouquet (with a hint of Real Red for the blossom’s centers) and a background of Very Vanilla.  The leaves are cut with Mellow Moss.  The patterned strip of Designer Series Paper comes from the baby themed Sweet Li’l Things.  I used another Paper Pumpkin stamp for the words.

If you are in the South Shore area, I would love for you to join us at class on either Thursday, March 31 at 10 am or Friday, April 1 at 10 am or 7 pm.  All you need to do is RSVP.

Spread the love!
